If you’ve got questions about Black Hammer, Dark Horse Comics has answers. The publisher has announced a new one-shot aimed at exploring the weird, wide lives of the Golden Age pulp heroes and alien warlords we know and love. The World of Black Hammer Encyclopedia, due out in July, serves as a guide to all things Black Hammer. It includes detailed biographies of the heroes, villains, and supporting characters, illustrated by artists such as David Rubin, Wilfredo Torres, Tyler Crook, Christian Ward, and more. Dave Stewart handled the colors and the book features a cover by Andrea Sorrentino.
As Black Hammer has expanded with numerous one-shots and mini-series, going in directions I never expected, I welcome a book like this. It’s a nice complement to the series, akin to the old Who’s Who or Official Guides published by DC and Marvel years ago.
The World of Black Hammer Encyclopedia is set for release on July 3rd, 2019 and is currently available for pre-order.
