With A Dominating Performance, Drini Gjoka Becomes The Madden Bowl Winner

The Madden 19 Championship Series came to an end this weekend with the crowning of the Madden Bowl winner. The final match saw the youngster, Michael Spoto, take on one of the best players in the circuit, Drini Gjoka. Drini was hoping to get over the hump and win his second belt. Last year in the same event, he came just short in the last game against Young Kiv and more recently, he lost in the championship game for the Madden Challenge.

Drini set the defensive tone early by forcing an interception on his opponent’s first possession. He then scored a rushing touchdown after the takeaway. Unfortunately for Spoto, Drini was relentless on defense either causing turnovers or punts. He was as effective on the other side of the ball putting up 31 points by the half and cruising to a 31 – 0 lead. The body language of each competitor couldn’t be more different. While Drini held a quite confidence, Spoto looked demoralized and in disbelief at such a huge deficit.

After halftime, Drini could sit on his lead and milk the clock. He started the third quarter with the ball and his first possession lasted early into the fourth quarter punctuated with a field goal. Spoto was unable to change his fortunes as he continued to turn the ball over through interceptions and a fumble. After the clock wound down, Drini was victorious by the score of 41 – 0.

Drini dominated the game from start to finish picking up some records in the process. He won by the largest margin and had the first shut out in a championship game. He has won his second championship belt and is only one away from the all-time leader, Michael Skimbo. The 2019 season comes to a conclusion and all the players can start improving their game to be ready for next year.
