‘Necessary Evil’ Kicks Off In Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #40 First Look

“Necessary Evil,” the next big Power Rangers event kicks off next month with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #40. Writer Ryan Parrott and artist Daniele di Nicuolo start it up with the first appearance of a mysterious new team of Rangers that aim to answer on of the biggest mysteries in the franchise’s 25 year history.
MMPR #40 has the Rangers back in Angel Grove, but with a new leader. The White Ranger is large and in charge. We’ll finally learn what happened to them after they defeated Lord Drakkon at the end of “Shattered Grid.” That’s just one of the secrets in store with this issue.

MMPR #40 features a main cover by Jamal Campbell, a special foil variant of the Helmet Covers featuring the White Ranger by Goñi Montes, a series of collectible Trading card variants by Kris Anka, and exclusive Story Variants written by Ryan Parrott and illustrated by Dan Mora. The Trading Card variants feature Tommy Oliver as the White Ranger with a shot of him in action on the front and his stats, team name, alias, biography, and details on his first encounter with the team on the back cover.
The Story Variants tell an eleven-part story kicking off with MMPR #40 and ending with issue #50. The tale will reveal never-before-seen details of the immediate aftermath of “Shattered Grid.”
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #40 is set for release on June 26th, 2019.
