Go Through Spider-Man’s Closet With New Costumed Variant Covers

by James Ferguson

If I learned anything from playing the Spider-Man Playstation 4 game, it’s that the web-head has a whole lot of costumes. One of the funnest parts of the game was unlocking new suits and taking them for a spin around New York City. Marvel Comics seems to agree as the publisher has announced a series of variant covers debuting in June showcasing some of the best of Spider-Man’s ever-increasing wardrobe.

Check out the full list below, including such hits as the stealth suit, the symbiote suit, webbing suit, Fantastic Four suit, and more.

  1. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #23 by Stuart Immonen
  2. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #24 by Olivier Coipel
  3. CAPTAIN MARVEL #7 by Mike McKone and Rachelle Rosenberg
  4. DEADPOOL #14 by Mark Brooks
  5. DOCTOR STRANGE #16 by David Yardin and David Curiel
  6. FANTASTIC FOUR #11 by Jay Anacleto and Romulo Fajardo Jr.
  7. FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN #8 by Adi Granov
  8. IMMORTAL HULK #19 by Ema Lupacchino and David Curiel
  9. MAGNIFICENT MS. MARVEL #4 by Gerald Parel
  10. THANOS #3 by Nick Bradshaw and Morry Hollowell

While I love these images and the chance to see awesome artwork, I have to wonder why some of these titles were chosen. I’m willing to bet Spider-Man is not going to appear in Thanos #3. There are currently two ongoing Spider-Man comics starring Peter Parker, plus at least two mini-series, and some Spider-adjacent titles like Spider-Gwen and Miles Morales, so why not spread them out in those instead of adding something like Captain Marvel? In any case, these are pretty cool images from some awesome artists.
