Samurai Shodown: Return Of A Legend Gets A Trailer And Release Date

SNK Games has released a new Samurai Shodown trailer entitled “Return of a Legend”, featuring a look at the game’s full line-up of characters as well as finally revealing the release date. Featuring everyone from new characters “Darli Dagger” to returning ones like Nakoruru and Haohmaru, this trailer highlights everything from the unique special moves and fighting styles of the characters, to the special modes like Ghost Match, where players will battle against CPU ghosts.

SNK has also brought us a trailer for returning protagonist Haomaru, a wandering swordsman searching for the next great challenge for him and his blade, Fugudoku:

As well as returning character Charlotte, a French swordswoman who brandishes a rapier called La Roche:

Samurai Shodown launches June 25th for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in America and Europe, while the Japanese version will launch on June 27th.  It’s worth nothing that anyone who purchases the game before June 30th will also receive the game’s season pass for free. Though we currently have no idea what content will be available in this pass, it’s worth noting this is several days after the title actually releases, meaning players will have a chance to try the title out before buying, yet can still get the season pass.
