John Tyler Chrisptopher’s New Star Wars #66 Variant Revealed

by Olly MacNamee

John Tyler Christopher must be one of the kindest comic book cover artists round. He always goes to the trouble of reminding his fans how grateful he is for their support and always delivers on his promises – even when his recent run of Obi_Wan covers were damaged. He dealt with it swiftly and professionally and I don’t think anyone has raised even an eyebrow. Judging by the adulation thrown his way after every announcement of a new Star Wars cover, he’s still on a roll and this time round, he’s revealed a Yoda action figure variant that will go up for pre-sale on his site next Thursday 20th June.
Here’s what he had to say about this choice:

From the first time we laid eyes on him in Empire, we all fell in love. The humor, the wisdom, the wonderful ballads of battling Sea Gulls, there is no character who defines the idea of master like the Degobah kid himself. For my money, the scene where Luke tries to pull his X-Wing out of the mud, through the “and that is why you failed” line, might be one the best in all of cinema. The music, the way it’s shot, and all of the performances still give me chills.
