Action RPG GreedFall Introduces Its First Major Town, Serene

Publisher Focus Home Interactive and developer Spiders has released a new trailer for their upcoming game, GreedFall. A short trailer (presumably one of several to come) meant to show off one of the game’s locations, this trailer shows off the city of Serene. A major part of the “old country”, Serene is a port town which has been touched by the same plague ravaging the rest of the country. The city is still bustling, but also has plague doctors dealing with victims and a bunch of thieves eager to take advantage of the weakened society.
From the narration in the trailer, this will be the city players begin the game in, as they set out from here alongside their cousin in order to reach the new world, Teer Fradee, in the hopes of finding a cure for the plague destroying your home.
There’s also some recent gameplay of GreedFall courtesy of IGN, below. Collected during E3, the footage gives a look at the combat, the leveling system, some of the members of your party, and another glimpse of several of the world’s different environments, from areas in the city to the wilderness.
GreedFall is scheduled to release this September for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
