Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues With A New Miniseries From IDW
by Olly MacNamee
The success of the Karate Kid revival, Cobra Kai You Tube Premium Series is now permeating comics with IDW’s newly announced Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues miniseries from Denton J. Tipton (The X-Files) and artist Kagan McLeod (Infinite Kung Fu).
Starting with “Johnny’s Story” Part 1 (of 4) in October, readers will see The Karate Kid movie in a whole new light in this retelling through the eyes of Johnny Lawrence, two-time All Valley Tournament champion. When the new kid makes moves on the girl that broke Johnny’s heart, he vows to settle the score and win back his love… or so goes the story Sensei Lawrence tells his students nearly 35 years later.
For Karate Kid fans of all ages. Well, I imagine not ALL ages, but rather us older dudes reliving our childhood any way we can. Because, y’know, things were much better then, especially films. Honest.
Look out for it coming to comic book stores this October.
