After the success of Archie: 1941, the band is getting back together to visit the next decade in Archie: 1955. This new five-issue mini-series kicks off next month and Archie Comics has provided us with an early preview of the first issue.
Archie Andrews comes from a small, sleepy town to find fame and fortune through this new phenomenon called “rock & roll.” He first has to prove to a local DJ that he can ascend to hip-shaking stardom, but this will take him to both triumph and tragedy.
Archie: 1955 #1 is written by Mark Waid and Brian Augustyn, illustrated by Tom Grummett, inked by Bob Smith, colored by Glenn Whitmore, and lettered by Jack Morelli. It features a main cover by Audrey Mok and variant covers by Jinky Coronado, Francesco Francavilla, Aaron Lopresti, and Pete Woods. It’s set for release on September 18th, 2019 and the final order cutoff date for comic shops is Monday, August 26th, 2019.
