First-Person Action Game Dying Light 2 Reveals Nearly 30 Minutes Of Gameplay
by Sage Ashford
Techland has decided to reveal the E3 footage of their upcoming zombie game Dying Light 2 to the public. The game is described as follows:
The last great human settlement exists within an unforgiving, infected world. Exceptional agility and combat skills make you a powerful ally and a valuable commodity. With your unique abilities you have the power to be an agent of change within this decaying metropolis. Use it wisely.
The gameplay itself covers the main character going on a mission to get water for the city now that it’s nearly run out. Intending to negotiate with “the Colonel” for the water, things go bad when the leader of the city is killed in a discussion. From there, we’re shown a look at the game’s parkour and what it’s like to survive in areas where zombies can be found anywhere, but are especially powerful in the dark. This version of the game has a much increased focus on narrative, offering choices that will affect the world around the player as they continue to play. In this mission, the lead character is given a choice to turn on the water or not, which has other rippling effects regardless of the decision. While the previous game seemed to be focused more on gameplay than story, this game appears to want to do both equally.
Dying Light 2 is scheduled to release early 2020 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
