A Haunted Car, Circus Freaks, And Murder – Matt Miner’s Death Trap On Kickstarter

by Brendan M. Allen

Teamed with the ghost of her father, who haunts his badass old Mercury Cougar, Ollie’s on the road to revenge in the hunt for her dad’s killer.  Navigating a world of circus sideshow freaks, dancing bears, bearded strong women, and methed-out white trash carnies, Ollie’s vengeance will come at a price when she finds out the truth — that those she trusted the most betrayed her and her father in the most egregious ways.

Matt Miner (GWAR: Orgasmageddon) teams up with artist Christopher Peterson (Grindhouse: Doors Open at Midnight), colorist Josh Jensen (GWAR, Lab Raider), and ace letterer Matt Krotzer (Strayed, House of Fear) to bring Death Trap to Kickstarter.
Described as a love letter to carsploitation and revenge flicks of the 70’s and 80’s, the 4-issue miniseries launched to Kickstarter and seeks $18,000 to cover creator page rates and backer rewards. Some of those rewards include digital and physical copies of the books, exclusive covers, Matt Miner book packs, professional services like script review, and guest appearances in the series as a character or a dashboard bobblehead. Bobblehead. Pick the bobblehead.

Death Trap takes all my favorite things, like circus freaks and haunted cars, and scary meth-head carnies, and puts them all in one bananas-ass revenge story that’s a love letter to exploitation cinema of the 70s and 80s. -Matt Miner

You can throw money at Death Trap here. Sweet, sweet rewards like these tend to get snapped up quickly. The creators urge backers to pledge early in the campaign to secure their swag. The project runs from 03 September through 02 October 2019.  Kickstarter is all-or-nothing funding, so if 100% of the goal isn’t reached, none of the money is collected.
