Dynamite Offer Red Sonja Humble Bundle In support Of CBLDF

by Olly MacNamee

Having been the publishing home for Red Sonja for the past 15 years, as you can imagine Dynamite have built up quite the collection of sword-swinging sagas over that time. And now, they’ve teamed up with the good folk at Humble Bundle in support of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, to offer you a boat load of back issues – over 130 –  for less than a fist fill of dollars and weighing in at 3,797 pages. There are a variety of price points available on their official page here, anything from a dollar to $18, which offers a bonus digital copy of Frank Thorne’s Red Sonja: Art Edition.
Stories from top writers and artists are included in this bundle, including Gail Simone, Peter David, Frank Cho, Mike Carey, Amy Chu, Lucio Parrillo, Luke Lieberman, Michael Avon Oeming, Marguerite Bennett, Walter Geovani, Carlos Gomez and Mel Rubi plus many more.

Plus, it includes an exclusive new story by Red Sonja ongoing series’ writer Mark Russell (Second Coming) with Craig Rousseau on art, (Impulse, Batman Beyond). Dearbhla Kelly on colors and Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou on letters. More on that story below:

The exclusive story, titled “Petitioning the Queen,” is a fun special story of Red Sonja struggling to prepare for a massive war while juggling her other new duties as Queen of Hyrkania. A pair of “magical” dwarves cause havoc in the streets and force Sonja to confront powers far beyond her understanding. It’s not to be missed, as story elements here will reverberate in the flagship and something else coming up…
Here’s Russell explaining further:
This is a fun one-off that takes place between the first and second issues of the main series, and yet, introduces characters who will appear much later in the series. Craig’s lighter, more fantasy-toned art and Bryce’s clever writing come together really well in a story that’s more weirdly whimsical than the main series.
Four tiers available for a limited time only, though. So, which one will you grab?
