NYCC 2019: Brace Your Wallet For The Marvel Convention Exclusive Merchandise

by James Ferguson

Oh, man, is my wallet going to be hurting after New York Comic Con. There are quite a few convention exclusives that I have my eye on and Marvel just added a few more. The publisher revealed what its bringing to NYCC, including a line of apparel, comic book variants, collectible pins, and more, all available at booth #1354.

Marvel will have special Spirit Jerseys exclusive to each day of the show. Deadpool is on Thursday, The Punisher on Friday, Xavier’s School on Saturday, and Captain America on Sunday.  These will only be sold on their respective days of the convention. These are not to be confused with Marvel’s convention exclusive t-shirts which will be available every day, while supplies last.

There will also be some all-new enamel pin sets celebrating Marvel’s 80th anniversary.  As a newly converted pin-obsessive, I am super focused on these.  There are collections of Marvel character corner boxes from across the decades and Marvel’s classic logos since 1939.  There are only 120 logo sets and 500 character sets available so I’ll be elbowing my way into that line early.

Also, there are comics!  Check out the individually numbered, bagged, and boarded variants that will be available at NYCC below:

  • MARVEL COMICS #1001 MONDO VARIANT (limited to 1,001 copies)
  • STRIKEFORCE #1 FLUORESCENT SPIDER-WOMAN VARIANT BY JOHN TYLER CHRISTOPHER (limited to 2,000 copies)
  • HOUSE OF X #5 GLOW-IN-THE-DARK VARIANT BY J. SCOTT CAMPBELL (limited to 2,500 copies)
  • GHOST RIDER #1 GLOW-IN-THE-DARK HOMAGE VARIANT BY PHILIP TAN (limited to 1,500 copies)

Marvel Unlimited Plus members and Marvel Mastercard cardholders will also have a chance to get an exclusive, ultra-rare variant cover of Black Panther #16 for free.  This cover, from artist Todd Nauck, features King T’Challa overseeing the Kingdom of Wakanda, rendered in the style of Cosbaby by Hot Toys.
