Oliver Returns To The Beginning In New Arrow Season 8 Trailer

The CW has released one more trailer for the upcoming return of Arrow. And it seems Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) tour across of the Multiverse will being with a trip back to the beginning. Or at least some version of it. As we hear in the new footage, the Crisis is coming and The Monitor (LaMonica Garrett) looks to Oliver to help him hold back the destruction. And it seems to take him to a place where his mother Moira (Susanna Thompson) and his childhood friend Tommy Merlyn (Colin Donnell) are still alive. A previous trailer suggested this may be taking place on a world where Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) and Moira married sometime in the past.
Or, y’know, it could all be an illusion.
The trailer also gives our first good look at the 2040s J.J. (Charlie Barnett), who has adopted Deathstroke’s look as his own. Will Mia (Katherine McNamara) and the New New Team Arrow be able to halt his plans for Star City? Will Connor (Joseph David-Jones) be able to talk his adoptive brother down? Also, will we find out what became of Diggle (David Ramsey) 20+ years in future?
Arrow returns October 15th on The CW.
