Boom! Studios has shared an early preview of B.B. Free #1, the debut issue of the new series from writer Gabby Rivera and artist Royal Dunlap, due out next month.
The series takes place years after the Plague That Ate Greed wiped out the ultra rich. The title character and her father live in a small, close-knit community in the Florida Islands. Everything is shared and everyone has each other’s backs. B.B. is becoming a teenager and wants to learn more about the world beyond her swamp. Her only connection to the outside world is her underground radio show. When she discovers a huge secret that could tear her family and the entire community apart, she realizes there’s a lot her father isn’t telling her. She just might have to head out into the world on her own to find the truth.
B.B. Free #1 will be published under Boom! Studios Boom! Box imprint. It’s set for release on November 6th, 2019.
