Ruined King: A League of Legends Story is a Turn-based RPG From Airship Syndicate

by Sage Ashford

League of Legends publisher/developer Riot Games mentioned earlier in the year they were working on multiple games set in the League of Legends universe. One of the many upcoming games made its first appearance at The Game Awards and comes from the studio that brought us the Battle Chasers game, Airship Syndicate.  More from Riot below:

Ruined King: A League of Legends Story is a story-driven, turn based role-playing game (RPG) being developed by Airship Syndicate and published by Riot Forge.
Set after the events of Burning Tides, players will take control of LoL champions and explore the bustling city of Bilgewater and the mysterious Shadow Isles in a game for the first time.
Featuring fan favorite champions, innovative turn-based combat, and beautiful art direction along with brand new surprises and plenty of poros, Ruined King: A League of Legends Story advances the stories of many champions in the LoL Universe and offers an exciting new way to experience the World of Runeterra.

Like many of the games shown at The Game Awards, we didn’t get to see any gameplay, but it’s safe to say (and it was implied by Joe Madueira of Airship Syndicate) that it’s going to resemble Battle Chasers. They said it was coming to “consoles and PC”, but since they didn’t specify platforms or release date, it’s entirely possible this is more than a year off, and is either cross-generation or next-gen related.
