Onuka Incorporates Neo-Tribalism Into Their Latest Music Video

by Tito W. James

Onuka is Ukrainian electro-folk band. Their new music video titled Zenit perfectly embodies the emerging concept of neo-tribalism.

I hope this video will help to open eyes to the beauty of the world around us. Regardless of the troubles we face, the demands made of us by modern living, or the fast paced run we are all thrown into. Sometimes you need to stop for a second to see the happiness of the moment. We see that what we want to see.

While the violent and insular aspects of tribalism have been dominating the news media, the multi-cultural, environmental, and shamanic qualities of tribalism have been rising in the arts. Ethnic-futurism, mind-expanding drugs, and finding divinity within nature all stem from humanity’s common roots. Neo-tribalism is a way to remember the wisdom of our ancestors and to combat the current onslaught of animalistic violence.

I believe that neo-tribalism will rise as a concept in the coming years. Our world is filled with many cultures and means of expression. The more effectively we can communicate the more we can learn. And no means of communication transcend boarders quite like music.
