The Flash Faces A Post-Crisis Future In A Promo For Season 6B

by Erik Amaya

In October, The Flash showrunner Eric Wallace told Comicon the sixth season of the show would be split into two parts — the eight episode Bloodwork storyline and “Season 6B.” He likened the concept to two complete Flash graphic novels. And as this promo for the second “graphic novel” indicates, the Post-Crisis world will be no easy place for Barry (Grant Gustin), Iris (Candace Patton) or the rest of Team Flash and Team Citizen.

Besides the return of the shadowy organization teased in “License to Elongate,” tensions between Barry and Iris appear to be at an all time high. Did the new Multiverse change her in subtle ways? Will she suddenly remember her long, lost dissertation? Meanwhile, we know Season 6B will also introduce Sue Dearbon (Natalie Dreyfuss) and continue Ralph’s (Hartley Sawyer) journey to becoming the world’s greatest detective.
But the promo seemingly suggests the new Multiverse is unknown to people like Cisco (Carlos Valdes), who used to be able to transverse the worlds with ease. Will that be a forbidden realm in the near future or will The Flash find a way to return to different worlds? Granted, the promo also suggests there’s plenty to deal with in their home universe for the time being.
The Flash returns February 4th on The CW.
