Sabrina Must Reign To Maintain The Balance In Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina Part 3 Trailer

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina returns next week, and Netflix has a released a pretty interesting trailer for the upcoming season — or “Part” in the program’s parlance. Sabrina’s (Kiernan Shipka) boyfriend Nick Scratch (Gavin Leatherwood) is still in Hell, but matters on Earth become more precarious as the vacant throne of Hell throws everything off balance. To save her friends, Greendale, and the world, Sabrina may have to sit the Infernal Seat herself. And doing so may cost her very soul. It may also change everything as even Aunt Zelda (Miranda Otto) suggests Heaven may become the next realm to fall to Sabrina’s sway.
Meanwhile, she also found time to become a cheerleader?
It’s been a long while since Part 2, but the trailer goes a long way toward reminding us what we liked about the program. It furthers Riverdale‘s mix of dark tidings in the wholesome Archie Comics setting. But it also goes a little further with its use of horror tropes, its sometimes very pointed critique of Catholic hierarchy, and the way it often inverts traditional Western European hero roles. It still wears its CW origins on its sleeve, of course. Nevertheless, it tends to be a fun romp.
