The Walking Dead: World Beyond To Debut April 12

The Walking Dead‘s third series, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, will debut April 12th on AMC.
Created by overall Walking Dead brand manager Scott Gimple and Matt Negrete — who serves as showrunner — the series will focus on “the first generation raised in the zombie apocalypse.” According to an AMC press release, the story centers on two sisters who, along with two friends, “leave a place of safety and comfort to brave dangers, known and unknown, living and undead on an important quest. Pursued by those who wish to protect them and those who wish to harm them, a tale of growing up and transformation unfurls across dangerous terrain, challenging everything they know about the world, themselves and each other. Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. But all of them will find the truths they seek.” Additionally, the show is planned to only span two seasons, according to Collider, which is a fresh approach as both The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead continue to drag on like, well, zombies.
The program stars Aliyah Royale, Alexa Mansour, Annet Mahendru, Nicolas Cantu, Hal Cumpston and Nico Tortorella. Recurring cast includes Natalie Gold, Al Calderon, Scott Adsit, and Ted Sutherland. Julia Ormond has also joined the series as Elizabeth, the charismatic leader of a large, sophisticated and “formidable” force the kids will have to contend with.
