Winn Schott Plots An Unhappy Reunion On Next Week’s Supergirl
by Erik Amaya
Winn Schott (Jeremy Jordan) makes his long-awaited return to Supergirl next week. But as this preview for the episode suggests, the reunion with his DEO pals may not be a happy one. Winn seems to have picked up his father’s habits and adopted the name Toyman. Is this another consequence of the Crisis or was it always in Winn’s nature to ally with Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer)?
Meanwhile, we’re thrilled to see Brainiac 5 (Jesse Rath) finally turn green! He look so right that it’s worth the coming weeks of drama as he plots against Leviathan and tries to convince Nia (Nicole Maines) that he does not love her. Some of it may be a little overwrought — also, we’d love to see Brainy and Nia just enjoy being together for a little while — but what is Supergirl without a little overwrought drama?
That said, the sci-fi conceit of a Brainy saving his Earth from the old Multiverse is a really great way to follow up on concepts from “Crisis” and introduce the Coluan habit for bottling cities and planets. Maybe it means we’ll finally see the original Brainiac at some point. Maybe he’ll appear just as Levithan thinks it’s won.
Supergirl airs Sundays on The CW.
