Investigate The Death Of Nancy Drew This April
by James Ferguson
Nancy Drew has solved quite a few mysteries since she debuted in 1930. In April, she’ll have to solve her own death. Dynamite Entertainment is celebrating the 90th anniversary of the character by killing her in Nancy Drew & The Hardy Boys: The Death of Nancy Drew. Written by Anthony Del Col, illustrated by Joe Eisma, colored by Salvatore Aiala, and lettered by Crank!, the comic begins with the Hardy Boys at Nancy’s grave and takes us through a dark noir-infused story and one of the highest stake investigations into organized crime ever seen by these characters.
Writer Anthony Del Col says:
Over the years, there have been a lot of difficult mysteries to solve in the lives of Nancy Drew as well as the Hardy brothers. But I wanted to top them all, and so put together the ultimate case – solving Nancy’s death! Joe Eisma and I have had a blast really coming up with some twists and turns that all fans – new and old – of Nancy, Frank and Joe will enjoy.
Dynamite has done some great stuff with Nancy Drew over the past few years. I’m sure having a new show on The CW doesn’t hurt either. I love this version of the character, leaning into more of a noir mystery than a pre-teen novel. Of course, I’m biased because I don’t fall into that demographic, but regardless, it’s a pretty fun setup.
Artist Joe Eisma added:
Anthony and I have crafted a white knuckle ride of twists and turns for Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys. Whether you’re new to these characters or a long time fan, you won’t want to miss this book!
Eisma will also be handling covers for Nancy Drew & The Hardy Boys: The Death of Nancy Drew.
Nick Barrucci, Dynamite CEO and Publisher says:
We’ve had incredible success with Nancy Drew, not only as through initial release as periodicals but then as the collections through comic stores, bookstores and libraries. With the TV series doing so well, the awareness for Nancy is at an all-time high. And we’re grateful to have Anthony Del Col come back to a new series, and working with Joe Eisma brings the perfect atmosphere to these crisp scripts!
Nancy Drew & The Hardy Boys: The Death of Nancy Drew #1 is set for release in April 2020.
