Daniel Radcliffe Denies Involvement in Marvel’s ‘Moon Knight’ Disney+ Series

While we tend to avoid casting rumors — particularly unsubstantiated ones originating from outside the trade press — we often take note of an actor flatly denying rumors. One such case: Daniel Radcliffe‘s response to indications he might be in the frame for Marvel Studios’ Moon Knight series on Disney+.
The program, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, is on the schedule at Disney+ and Radcliffe’s name soon emerged as a possible contender for the title role. But as he told ComingSoon.net recently, “the Moon Knight rumors are untrue, I can officially debunk that one, I haven’t heard anything about it.” He added he has no reticence in making a long-term commitment to a franchise provided, of course, the material is up to snuff.
It is a pretty standard — almost boilerplate — answer an actor might offer when asked about a rumored job. However, his use of the term “untrue” suggests more than an evasion of the question. When actors get cornered on projects they might be involved in, less definite words appear. Granted, the nature of television development is strange enough that Radcliffe could still end up playing the part and be telling the truth here. It is possible Marvel Studios have not made an offer to anyone regarding the series. So, we’ll make note of his answer here and see if it lines up with the reality of the series in two years’ time. As part of the Phase 5 roster due to begin after the release of Thor: Love and Thunder, there is still plenty of time for Marvel to develop Moon Knight to its specifications, cast the series, and produce it. And the reality of that series will no doubt come as a surprise to those reading the rumors right now.
