Kayla Compton Promoted To Series Regular For The Flash’s Seventh Season

Team Citizen is getting some more full-time help.
Deadline reports The Flash season six guest star Kayla Compton has been promoted to a series regular for the program’s seventh season. She was introduced earlier this year as Allegra, a meta juvenile delinquent who becomes the prime suspect in a series of robberies committed by her cousin. Once cleared, she joined the Central City Citizen as an intern and an occasional support player over on Team Flash. She may also be the forgotten daughter of a Pre-Crisis Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh).
The move suggests the program’s recent focus on Team Citizen will continue. While it means Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) may be less of a focus going forward, it actually makes a certain amount of sense as a television series goes on that it expands into other castmembers and plotlines. And it seems like The Flash is refreshing itself with these new hires. A few days back, word broke that Brandon McKnight will also be a season regular as Chester P. Runk next year. Of course, its possible these new regulars may replace some veteran members of the team, but it will interesting to see if the new dynamic — whatever its form — works next season.
The Flash airs Tuesdays on The CW.
