‘Post York’ Expands With New Edition From Berger Books & Dark Horse
by James Ferguson
The Eisner-nominated one-shot Post York is getting an upgrade as it gets a re-release from Berger Books, a Dark Horse Comics imprint founded by Karen Berger. Creator James Romberger is expanded the comic to graphic novel length with this new version set for release in September 2020.
Karen Berger says:
When James told me he was expanding Post York into a graphic novel, I leapt at the chance to publish this singular and riveting story of daily survival in a not-so-far-fetched NYC. It couldn’t be more timely nor terrifying.
Post York is set in a time where the polar ice caps have melted and New York City is flooded beyond recognition. A man and his cat navigate the submerged city trying to live another day. Everything changes when he meets a mysterious woman and a trapped blue whale. They could be each other’s salvation…or destruction.
Creator James Romberger added:
Post York’s hero is my son Crosby and the story is my apology to him for the mess my generation has left the planet in. The book is created in an experimental way; it is improvised directly onto the art boards without script or preliminary layouts. The alternative endings came about this way, as did certain narrative twists that grew from my conversations with Crosby, and from his rap song.
Post York is set for release on September 2nd, 2020. It’s currently available for pre-order at your local comic shop, bookstore, and Amazon.
