‘The Flash’ Shuts Down Production As Coronavirus Outbreak Continues

The Flash is the latest comic book show to close production due to the spread of COVID-19
Deadline reports production on The CW has shut down immediately and will remain dark until further notice. It is the latest television show to suspend filming as attempts to contain the novel Coronavirus continues in Canada and the rest of the world. Riverdale also shut down in the last few days as a member of its team was exposed to the virus. And outside of the comic book-based subgenres, programs like Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, NBC’s Chicago programs, and a few late night talk shows have also suspended filming.
It is unclear if a member of The Flash production team was exposed, but it possible an abundance of caution is being employed in this case. And as production is four-to-five weeks ahead of the episodes airing, it would seem The Flash was nearing its season finale. Presumably, production will resume at some point to end the season’s story. But Deadline also reports procedural shows without serial storylines may just call it a season wrap.
