‘The Batman’ Moves To October 1, 2021 As Warner Bros. Shifts Release Calendar

Considering production on the long-awaited The Batman paused last month, it is no surprise the film’s release is getting postponed.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film, originally scheduled for release on June 25th, 2021, is moving to an October 1st, 2021 release date. The move comes as the continuing COVID-19 pandemic plays havoc with movie production and release schedules. And just like other studios, Warner Bros. continues to alter its plans.
As part of the restructured schedule, the always-in-development The Flash is actually moving up one month earlier to June 3rd, 2022 from the July 1st, 2022 date its held for sometime — although, as we like to point out, the film was originally scheduled for release in 2018. The Shazam! sequel, meanwhile, is moving out of spring 2022 to November 4th, 2022. At this point, The Suicide Squad is holding firm with its August 6th, 2021 release date, as is Christopher Nolan’s latest film, Tenet, with its release still set for July 17th, 2020. Wonder Woman 1984, is also sticking to its August 14th release date, which is of course a rescheduling from its June date and a November 2019 release date it held as production began.
Of course, all of this is subject to change as the nature of the outbreak continues to evolve. But, as always, we hope these films make their bows as (newly) scheduled and we get the chance to debate their merits in short order.
