A Magical Quest Begins In ‘Wynd #1’ First Look From BOOM! Studios

Publisher BOOM! Studios has shared an early preview of Wynd #1, the upcoming series from writer James Tynion IV, artist Michael Dialynas, and letterer Aditya Bidikar. This was previously announced as an original graphic novel and will now be published as a limited series beginning in June.

Wynd #1 introduces readers to a world where magical heritage is punishable by death, so a young boy named Wynd must keep his true identity – and pointy ears – a secret from everyone in Pipetown, even if it means he’ll never have the normal life he wants. But when his secret is threatened, Wynd is forced to leave his home behind to embark on a dangerous quest that will put him at the heart of a royal conspiracy beyond his imagination.

Wynd marks the first time BOOM! Studios has solicited a title out of the traditional cycle which normally involves sharing details of products three months in advance for retailers and fans. Hopefully this risky move pays off as Wynd looks like a lot of fun.
Wynd #1 features a main cover by Michael Dialynas and variant covers by Dan Mora and Peach Momoko. It’s set for release on June 17th, 2020.
