London Film And Comic Con Rescheduled For November

It seems to be the day for comic con related announcements as we brought you news of The Lakes International Comic Art Festival plans for an online experience in October and now we have the news that London Film and Comic Con (LFCC), usually scheduled for late July, has rescheduled for November 20 – 22nd instead. What with Thought Bubble and MCM Comic Con Birmingham both held in that month too with MCM probably landing on the same weekend as LFFC if it goes ahead), it looks like this November is going to be a very busy month for comic book and film fans. But, how these UK cons will be run is yet to be seen as we slowly come out of lockdown and learn to live with a ‘new normal’ and continue with social distancing. For now. If these past two months have taught me anything, November is a long way away and a lot can happen between now and then.
But, back to LFCC.

If you’ve have tickets, they can be transferred to these new dates, if you are still able to make it that is. If not, then you will be able to get your money back. But, you’ll have to wait. They give further detailed reasons why they can’t refund now here, which effectively comes down to Showmasters’ money being tied up in venue, guests and other costs.
For further development and announcements (there’s no mention of comic book guest yet, but given that Tony Lee has been in charge of this side of the event for a few years now, I just know it’ll be a great turn-out) keep an eye out on their official website here.
The worry, for me and many others I can imagine, is that November has become very busy, very quickly and with less money to go around, and who knows what other obstacles too, how successful with each of these shows be given the added costs of hotels, travel and more? I know even though I’d love to go to LFCC, for me it’ll have to be Thought Bubble instead and a cheap trip to my local MCM show here in Birmingham. What about you?
