‘Shaman King’ & Spinoff Series Now Arriving Next Week Through ComiXology Originals

by James Ferguson

Kodansha USA Publishing and ComiXology Originals have announced the new release date for Shaman King and its spinoff series. Get ready as all 35 volumes of the original series will debut on October 6th, 2020. The spinoff series, Shaman King Zero, Shaman King: Flowers, Shaman King: Red Crimson, and Shaman King: Super Star will arrive in October and December of this year. This comes after a brief delay in the books’ release.

Shaman King will feature the final three volumes of the series, translated in English for the first time and with brand-new cover art from creator Hiroyuki Takei. He says:

It’s been over 10 years since I’ve completed Shaman King. But finally –– at last –– I can deliver the true ending to the story to the fans in America. It’s a message from my heart, and I think it’s a particularly important one in this day and age. I hope that it’ll reach the hearts of many comrades.

Shaman King and its spinoff series will be available to read digitally as part of ComiXology Originals. That means if you’re a subscriber to ComiXology Unlimited, Amazon Prime, or Kindle Unlimited, you can read these at no additional cost. They will also be available for purchase on Kindle and ComiXology.

Kodansha USA Publishing President & CEO Alvin Lu says:

We appreciate all the patience and support we’ve received from our fans while we worked to create the best possible manga experience for Shaman King. This is the release Hiroyuki Takei‘s shonen manga classic deserves, and it will be accompanied by the whole compendium of its sequels and prequels. A lot here to thrill fans both new and old!

The spinoff series will follow in the coming months. Shaman King Zero debuts on October 13th, 2020, following by Shaman King: Flowers on October 20th, 2020. Shaman King: Red Crimson arrives on October 27th, 2020 and finally, Shaman King: Super Star on December 8th, 2020.
There are still plans to bring the original Shaman King series to print between 2021 and 2022. The first two omnibuses, clocking in at 600 pages and including three volumes in one, are slated to debut in February 2021.
