The Tournament Begins In ‘X Of Swords: Stasis’ Trailer

“X of Swords” the first major X-Men event since the entire line relaunched, is well underway. We’re just getting started on this epic storyline showcasing the new vision for mutantkind. Marvel Comics has shared a trailer for X of Swords: Stasis, due out later this month from writers Jonathan Hickman and Tini Howard and artist Pepe Larraz. This features the first looks at Solem, Pogg Ur-Pogg, Isca the Unbeaten, and more.
Larraz speaks about the design of the X-Men’s deadly new enemies:
The swordbearers had to look as dangerous as possible. They had to tell a story of fighting for survival over a millennia; a story of ancient times, deadly violence and a brutal kind of beauty. In designing them, I mixed elements inspired by Egyptian culture, Laamb (Senegalese fighting), Donga (Ethiopian spear fighting), Nuba body-paint, postmodern minimal fashion, Thierry Le Goues’ photography, Maori weaponry, and biomimicry, among other things. Well, and a giant crocodile with four arms…
X of Swords: Stasis #1 is part 11 of the crossover event. It’s due out on October 28th, 2020. It is currently available for pre-order at your local comic shop and digitally through ComiXology and Amazon Kindle.
