Something For The Weekend: Your Regular Round-Up Of Reviews, News And More

by Olly MacNamee

Another week done with and here in the UK the bite of Autumn is well and truly being felt. Whatever the weather is where you are we hope you find the time to read up on some the more popular post from the last week here on comicon.com. Here then, in no real order, is this week’s ten-to-takeaway:

  1. On the review front, Brendan M. Allen got an advance look at Vault Comics new series The Devil’s Red Bride #1 from writer Sebastian Girner and artist John Bivens. You can read his thoughts of this debut issue here.
  2. News of 2000AD’s newest limited edition release – Nemesis the Warlock:The Later Heresies – was met with huge approval. Seems we have a good deal of 2000AD readers visiting our site quite regularly. But then we are one of the few sites that cover the galaxy’s greatest comic regularly. Read up on how you can pre-order your copy now here.
  3. On the gaming front, gaming expert Gary Catig brought you news on pre-registering for Dark Fantasy Open World RPG A3: Still Alive here.
  4. Once again, our regular look at old comic books you may have missed first time round is hitting all the right notes with you, our readers. Tony Thornley and Brendan M Allen discuss Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Vol. 1 from IDW in this week’s edition of New To You Comics here.
  5. There’s still a lot of Evil Dead fans out there it would seem. Our exclusive and extended preview of this week’s Death To The Army of Darkness #5 from Dynamite was lapped up by fans earlier this week. Care to take a look here?
  6. The hottest preview – suggest this could be the hottest comic of the past week – was for Dark Nights: Death Metal – Multiverse’s End #1, part of last week’s Super Sunday line-up. Check it out here.
  7. Batman: Death in the Family promises to be a choose-you-own-adventure Blu-Ray/Download presentation and the new trailer got people excited. If you haven’t caught it yet, or just want to rewatch it, check it out here.
  8. The news of a new Frank Frazetta clothing line, just in time for Halloween, got people going and you can read up on it here.
  9. We posted an early look at Titan Comics Adler #4 coming out next week. Check it out ahead of my advance review, coming Monday, here.
  10. We leave you with a preview of last week’s DC Digital First Batman: The Adventures Continue #13 that just sneaked in at the last, which you can check out here.
