IDW’s ‘TMNT: The Last Ronin’ #1 Exceeds 130,000 In Pre-Orders

by Olly MacNamee

TMNT: The Last Ronin is due out this October 28th and has had orders of over 130,000, which is a rather impressive number. So impressive in fact that IDW are not only ordering a second printing already but also thanking retailers with a special very limited variant ‘Thank You” edition black and white cover going to any who ordered theirs through Diamond Comic Distributors.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin takes place in a future New York City far different from the one we know today, where a lone surviving Turtle goes on a seemingly hopeless mission to obtain justice for his fallen family and friends. An epic five-part miniseries, The Last Ronin is based on an unpublished 1987 story concept by Eastman and Laird.”

TMNT: The Last Ronin #1 is scripted by Tom Waltz, with layouts by TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman, pencils and inks by Esau and Isaac Escorza, colours by Luis Antonio Delgado, letters by Shawn Lee, and edits by Bobby Curnow. Plus, each issue is oversized at 7” x 11” and 48 pages in length. You should really go ask your store to keep you a copy if you’re a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles‘ fan. It sound like this one is going to disappear off the shelves very quickly.
