by James Ferguson
Marvel Comics has dropped a trailer for next month’s King-Size Conan #1 celebrating 50 years of Robert E. Howard’s creation in comics. The anthology assembles some all-new stories spanning the entire breadth of Conan’s history. The trailer features some never-before-seen artwork too.
“Being Marvel, we’re going to celebrate this amazing anniversary of this classic character that’s become such a part of all our lives just like any other Marvel super hero,” Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski says.
“It’s a legacy we’ve been building on since the relaunch in 2019,” Editor Mark Basso explains. “And one we’re culminating with this special issue.”
King-Size Conan #1 features stories from Roy Thomas, who wrote Conan the Barbarian #1 back in 1970, plus Chris Claremont, Kurt Busiek, Steven S. DeKnight, and, making his Marvel Comics debut, Kevin Eastman. It features artwork from Steve McNiven, Pete Woods, Roberto de la Torre, Kevin Eastman, and Jesus Saiz.
King-Size Conan #1 features a cover by Andrew Robinson. It’s set for release on December 23rd, 2020.
