Kickstarting Comics: Jennie Gyllblade’s NSFW ‘Artemisia’

File this under things I’ve not noticed until too late, but the wonderful Jennie Gyllblad has a Kickstarter ending this week. It’s called Artemisia and it’s a wonderfully, if rather rude and smutty, comic for your enjoyment – provided you’re over 18 that is!

So, just in case, even though things are censored from her Kickstarter, some slightly NSFW images below…

After a couple of shorter works, her Jenitales, under her belt and successfully Kickstarted, Jenni was getting feedback that her readers wanted something with a little more length from her, which is where Artemisia comes in, a full-length erotic tale… or, as she puts it…

The comic that gets longer the more you stimulate it!

In Artemisia, Jenni explores what might happen when a woman seeks out a local Dom in an effort to spice up her sex-life?

Now, obviously, with its themes of BDSM, witchcraft, supernatural, ghosts, horror, and monsters, this one is definitely for the more adult amongst you but, provided you are 18, what you’re going to get when you back the book is a lush, beautifully drawn bit of spice and smut, wonderfully done, think of it as a steampunk-infused fantasy, all-gender friendly, designed to give you a great reading experience and get you hot under the collar.

Jennie is a Swedish-born, UK-dwelling comic creator who’s been working full-time in the comics scene for many years now and has a plentiful body of work to explore.

In addition to the Kickstarter for Artemisia, she has previous Jenitales, her two collections of short (but spicy!) erotic comics, By Man & Angels (written by Pedro La Barba), where a tale is told of the second coming of a woman called God in a fabulous space opera, her ongoing webcomic, Skal, a fantasy-based tale set in a lushly illustrated Arabian-inspired desert world, and Signatur, a short horror telling of what happens when a comic artist is isolated in her studio for too long.
