Get a new set of rhymes ready, former Fred Krueger Robert Englund is joining Stranger Things.
TVLine reports the iconic horror actor will play Victor Creel, a “disturbed and intimidating man” who murdered someone in the 1950s and resides in a psychiatric hospital. Englund is among eight new additions to the cast — a list which includes Jamie Campbell Bower, Eduardo Franco, Joseph Quinn, Sherman Augustus, Mason Dye, Nikola Djuricko, and Tom Wlaschiha.
Bower will play a orderly at the hospital who is becoming increasingly frustrated at the way it cares for its patients. Franco is Jonathan Byer’s (Charlie Heaton) new best friend, Argyle. Quinn plays Eddie Munson, Hawkins High’s chief Dungeon Master and the person “at the terrifying epicenter of this season’s mystery.” Augustus will play Lt. Colonel Sullivan, the latest military man charged with quelling Hawkins’ extra-dimensional problem. Dye takes on the role of Jason Carver, a popular kid whose world is about to unravel.
Djruicko and Wlachiha both play Russians who may or may not interact with Hopper (David Harbour) as he, presumably, tries to make his way back to Hawkins. Their roles, like Englund’s will be recurring while the rest will be season regulars.
Production is currently underway on Stranger Thing‘s fourth season and will presumably debut sometime next year on Netflix.
