Webcomic Weekly:’OGLAF’ Is A Very Different And Very Funny Sort Of NSFW Webcomic
by Richard Bruton
Webcomics Weekly – one webcomic every week – simple really. This week, something different as we dive into the ridiculously funny and distinctly NSFW world of OGLAF.
Trudy Cooper and Doug Bayne’s OGLAF is best described by this – the entry page to their site…
They’ve also described what they do as a “nerdy-fantasy sex-comedy webcomic,” that features “swords, sorcery, monsters, masonry, and cartoon dicks.”
Yes, it’s something that starts off as a pornographic webcomic but it rapidly descends into a fantastically funny sex comedy. Whether it’s single strips or multi-parters, there are many images of adults doing adult things to everything imaginable. Having said all that, everything you’ll be seeing in this edition of Webcomics Weekly is the tamer side of OGLAF, no skin, no sex, nothing like that.
And the great thing about OGLAF is that it’s possible to not only give you a flavour of what to expect from the webcomic with these SFW strips, but it’s also a perfect chance to show you just how funny and clever OGLAF truly is.
When you head to OGLAF and check out the archive as I did, the first thing you happen upon is this lil’ fella –“Cumsprite” – and yes, he appeared in exactly the way you think he did…
And you’d be right in that that sets a tone – but it’s a tone that changes rapidly, with the second strip at OGLAF, ‘Fountain of Doubt,’ being one of the funniest things I’ve seen for a hell of a long time.
It’s a spectacularly done single-page gag that’s just so incredibly clever, so funny, such a perfect example of the sort of comedic timing that’s all over most of the strips in OGLAF.
Yep, that’s just plain funny. And it’s just the sort of thing you’ll find plenty of here in OGLAF.
It updates every Sunday and is consistently that sort of clever funny, as well as consistently rude and sexy.
When I was looking around for new webcomics a while back, OGLAF was one that popped up on the radar as smart, sexy, silly, and inclusive – and it absolutely is all that.
This isn’t one of those many NSFW sex comics with one intended result and a complete focus on the male gaze. This is a webcomic that’s wonderfully focused on all many of things, it’s very gender-fluid, incredibly queer-friendly, and wonderfully funny and fun.
It’s a perfect example of an adult webcomic that’s very adults-only, very NSFW, but does it in a way that’s clever, that’s inclusive, that’s more about the fun and the funny than the skin. A perfect webcomic for anyone over the age of 18.
You can find OGLAF here, but do remember, there are rude and funny things frequently depicted in the strip, so NSFW and 18+ ONLY!
