Prepare For Marvel’s New Space Age In ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ #13 Trailer
by James Ferguson
Marvel’s next Space Age begins next month in Guardians of the Galaxy #13. Writer Al Ewing and artist Juan Frigeri debut a new team in the 175th legacy issue of the title along with a new status quo as the group is deputized by the Galactic Council. Check out a trailer for the book featuring never-before-seen artwork below.
“It’s a way to change things up a little, to raise the stakes and the tension, and partly it’s a way to play off S.W.O.R.D. – the Space Avengers to counter the Space X-Men,” Ewing explained in a recent interview with CBR. “But mostly, it was where the story wanted to go. Originally, this was all heading to a darker place, but – possibly because the world’s endured enough darkness recently – once I was in the thick of it, I ended up tacking towards something brighter and more positive, and that led to the idea of the Guardians as a superhero team in a more official capacity.”
A NEW AGE OF SPACE STARTS HERE! They were soldiers, misfits, mercenaries, thieves and a family. They were heroes… but times have changed. The galaxy no longer needs heroes. It needs super heroes! Now, when the call goes forth – whether it’s from a stranded team of planetary explorers or Emperor Hulkling and his Kree/Skrull Alliance – the Guardians of the Galaxy answer! The New Age of Space brings a new artist! New headquarters! New costumes! New teammates! And an all-new enemy you’ll have to see to believe! Get on board, true believer – it’s going to be the ride of your life!
Guardians of the Galaxy #13 is set for release on April 13th at your local comic shop and digitally at ComiXology and Amazon Kindle.
