‘Jonna And The Unpossible Monsters’ #1 Proves A Kaiju-Sized Hit & Sells Out

by James Ferguson

The Oni-Lion Forge Publishing Group has a hit on its hands with Jonna and the Unpossible Monsters. The first issue of the new series from Chris Samnee, Laura Samnee, Matthew Wilson, and Crank!, has sold out at the distribution level. The comic follows two sisters as they search for one another in a world full of “unpossible” monsters of all shapes and sizes. A second printing is on the way next month with a new cover by Chris Samnee with colors by Wilson.

Rainbow has been searching for her sister, Jonna, for a year. The last time she saw Jonna was also the first time she saw one of the strange monsters that now roam the planet. They’re big, ugly, and dangerous creatures that have driven humanity to the brink of extinction. Though there isn’t much hope for survival out in the wild, Rainbow knows that her sister is out there somewhere—and she’ll do anything to find her.

“We are overwhelmed by the amazing response from stores and readers alike for Jonna and the Unpossible Monsters. It’s fantastic that we’re able to bring the first issue in this incredible series by Chris Samnee and Laura Samnee back,” said James Lucas Jones, publisher of Oni-Lion Forge Publishing Group. “Our hope is that the story of Jonna and her sister Rainbow resonates with new and established comics readers alike, just as it did with our team.”

You may still be able to find print copies of the first printing of Jonna and the Unpossible Monsters #1 at your local comic shop. This is why it’s so important to pre-order your comics! You can also find it digitally through ComiXology and Amazon Kindle. Otherwise, you’ll have to wait until April 14th to pick up a second printing. Be sure to tell your shop you want it soon though because the final order cutoff for retailers is March 22nd, 2021.
