‘Shaman King Remake’ Comes To Netflix In 2021

Hiroyuki Takei’s Shaman King makes a return to the world of anime this year with a remake meant to adapt the full thirty-five volume series. The first anime originally debuted back in 2001, but after running sixty-four episodes came to a stop rather than attempt to continue doing filler. The series enjoyed some popularity in the States thanks to an appearance on the FoxBox Saturday morning block, and being published in the English adaptation of Shonen Jump.
Though the series will be airing in Japan at the start of April, Netflix has claimed the rights to it here in America, which means it might be a while before the series actually premieres in English.
Shaman King is the story of Yoh Asakura, a young man possessing the power to speak to spirits–making him a shaman. Yoh aims to become the next Shaman King, someone who would be able to alter the world however he wants by speaking to the Great Spirit. The only way for Yoh to have a chance though is by winning a battle held once every 500 years.
