First Look: Jace Beleren’s Life Hangs In The Balance In ‘Magic’ #2

BOOM! Studios has revealed a first look preview of Magic #2, the next issue of the new original comic book series from writer Jed MacKay, artist Ig Guara, colorist Arianna Consonni, and letterer Ed Dukeshire, available in May 2021.

Magic is aimed at both new readers and long time fans. As Cesareo Garasa put it in his Comicon review of Magic #1, “One doesn’t have to know how to play Magic: The Gathering or even be familiar with the game to understand what’s happening in BOOM! Studios’ Magic.”

‘With their homes rocked by an attack – and Jace Beleren’s life hanging in the balance – Planeswalkers Kaya, Ral, and Vraska must discover who is behind it all. But as they begin to suspect one of Ravnica’s most prominent Guilds is behind the attack, it becomes clear their enemy may be plotting something even more destructive…’

Magic #2 features main cover art by artist Matteo Scalera, as well as variant covers by Ig Guara, Daniel Warren Johnson, Michael Walsh, Jahnoy Lindsay, and Kael Ngu. Look for it on comic book store shelves May 12, 2021. In the meantime check out the early look preview art below.
