Emilia Clarke Joins Marvel’s ‘Secret Invasion’

Another suspect for the Skrull Queen emerges.
Variety reports former Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke is in final negotiations to join Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney+ series, Secret Invasion. Disney and Marvel have declined to comment, so while this is still unconfirmed, it is still more than likely true. Of course, no plot details are available, so it is unclear who she will play. But it is always possible she will play the Skrull Queen featured in the original comic book storyline.
Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn are already set to start as Nick Fury and Telos, respectively. The program will follow their attempts to uncover an invasion of shapeshifting Skrulls across all facets of Earth society. It is still unclear, though, if this is the reason Fury was seen assembling an armada at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Kingsley Ben-Adir is also set to appear in role most presume will be antagonistic. Additionally, Olivia Colman is said to be talks to play a role in the series. Like Clarke, it is easy to imagine her playing Skrull royalty, but it remains to be seen if that is the case.
Considering the speed at which Marvel’s television series are produced, the program may debut as early as late 2022. Although, it is possible this will be a key Phase 5 story and debut in 2023.
