Nate Corddry Joins Amazon’s ‘Paper Girls’ Adaptation
by Erik Amaya
Time and space is getting more crowded and fractured.
Deadline reports For All Mankind veteran Nate Corddry is the latest name to join Amazon’s upcoming adaptation of Paper Girls. Based on the comic book by Brian K. Vaughn and Cliff Chiang, the series follows four girls — Mac (Sofia Rosinsky), Tiffany (Camryn Jones), Erin (Riley Lai Nelet) and KJ (Fina Strazza) — as their paper routes take a turn for the weird the morning after Halloween 1988. Soon, they are caught up in a time war and find themselves flung into the distant past, a few decades into their own future, and the beautiful nightmare of a distant world both propped up and devastated by all that time travel. They also learn startling things about themselves thanks to the future versions of themselves that they see and just by virtue of going on this journey.
Corddry will play Larry, a member of the Underground engaged in the ongoing Time War. His encounter with the girls will leave him wondering how much he is willing to sacrifice for his goals. We’ll be honest, we don’t recognize this character from our read of the series as it originally came out. Of course, our memory may be skewed by the comic book’s eclectic release schedule. Besides Corddry and the main cast, the series will also feature Ali Wong as a future version of Erin — someone we definitely remember for our original read.
Stephany Folsom, Christopher Cantwell and Christopher C. Rogers will serve as executive producers with Folsom and Rogers splitting showrunner duties. The series is a production of Amazon Studios and Legendary Television, in association with Plan B.
Paper Girls will likely debut on Amazon sometime in 2022.
