Vault Comics To Offer ‘Barbaric’ As A Deluxe Black And White Edition With NSFW Variant Covers

Vault Comics’ new sword and sorcery parody title Barbaric #1 had already sold out at the distribution level even before it hit shelves last week. Alongside a second printing one other novel way to keep up with fan demand is to offer up a deluxe black and white version of the debut issue. But not only the first issue, but all subsequent issues too.

Showing off the artwork of Nathan Gooden, these deluxe issue will be printed on heavier paper and feature two different covers. One by Gooden and another black bagged as a NSFW version. Both versions will arrive in comic book stores on Wednesday 28th July.

“BARBARIC is very special to me because it helped me get through the hardest year of my life, 2020. When Mike Moreci and I started the collaboration, I was in a very dark place, so I expressed the idea of this just being FUN. Not to say, we didn’t take the process seriously, but why not just make a book for fun? From character designs to the world build, I just kept pushing to make it more interesting for the audience. Owen has cool hair, why not double the length? Soren has awesome tattoos, why not make them come to life? Axe can talk, why not?” – Nathan Goode
