Something For The Weekend: A Fistful Of Popular Posts For This 4th July Weekend

by Olly MacNamee

It’s a big weekend, I know, so I’ll keep it brief this week with just five popular posts. After all, surely you’ve got better things to do than surf the net all weekend? I know I have. While I may not be celebrating here in the UK, we do have a HUGE Saturday ahead of us as the English national football team head into the quarter-finals of the Euros. So, celebrations all round!

  1. We’ll start with the news that Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino are reuniting for a new comic book series called Primordial from Image Comics. Find out more about it here.
  2. Tony Thornley and Brendan M Allen reviewed Afterlife with Archie Vol. 1 in their regular New To You Comics here.
  3. And EiC Erik Amaya brought us the news that Sofia Hasmik’s Chrissy Beppo will become a series regular in Superman & Lois next season. Read all about this here.
  4. Ben Martin’s Franchise Explosion (Or Implosion) looked back at Fast Five, the fifth in The Fast and the Furious series here.
  5. Comic book legend, Brian Bolland, gets an Apex Edition of his early Judge Dredd strips courtesy of 2000 AD next year. If you want to know what an Apex Edition is, read up on the news of this and more 2000 AD publications coming in 2022 here.

Right, I’m off! See you all soon and don’t be a stranger.

Oh, and before I go, here’s a little something extra. And as it is the 4th July weekend I’ll leave you with an oldie but a goodie, James Brown and ‘Living in America’!
