‘Marvel’s Avengers’ Starts Free Weekend, Has ‘War For Wakanda’ Expansion Coming August 17th

Square-Enix’s Marvel’s Avengers is having something of a resurgence of late, as the company has come off several months of new content drops, and recently confirmed the launch date for their Marvel’s Avengers Expansion: Black Panther – War for Wakanda. War for Wakanda will launch on August 17th as a completely free update to everyone that owns the main title, just like the previous operations that added Kate Bishop and Clint Barton.

The update will add multiple things to the game, including a playable version of Black Panther, two new villains, a new villain faction, a new environment, and new missions that can be played both solo and multiplayer. As always, Crystal Dynamics will release a War Table video on their Twitch channel just before the expansion, premiering on Monday, August 16th which will give players plenty of new information on the expansion.

To prepare for this, there’s a free weekend starting now and lasting all the way up until August 1st for players on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Steam, and Stadia. During this time period there’s a 400% boost to experience and a 50% off sale in the Marketplace.
