Watch It For The Thrills: ‘Platinum End’ First Impressions

Platinum End follows Mirai Kakehashi, a student who attempts suicide but is rescued by his guardian angel, Nasse, who not only has vowed to protect him, but bestows him special powers as he is also one of 13 candidates chosen by different angels to take the role of God, who is to retire in 999 days.
When I initially heard about Platinum End I thought the premise sounded remarkable similar to Future Diary. After watching the first episode, I can say that the show is tonally similar to Future Diary and is prone to shock-content as opposed to believable characters and scenarios. But as a viewer who’s just interested in the “thrills” I feel like this is going to be one hell of a ride.
