Microids Announces ‘UFO Robot Grendizer’ Title Is In Development
by Sage Ashford
In one of the more random announcements of late, development studio Endroad and publisher Microids (Syberia) has announced they’re working on a game based on the 70’s mecha series, UFO Robot Grendizer. Of course the mecha genre seems to be slightly more popular lately, with developers like Level-5 working on Megaton Musashi, and Bandai-Namco putting out Super Robot Wars 30.
Grendizer follows the story of Duke Fleet, a young man from an alien planet who escaped to Earth to live a peaceful life until Earth is attacked by the alien threat of King Vega and his army. Duke is left with no choice but to work with his allies Koji and Hikaru, piloting the giant robot Grendizer to fight back and protect his home. Endroad mentions on the Microids website that Grendizer will be an action game that will put players in the role of Duke Fleet and allow him to pilot his giant robot and fight back in epic adventures to protect the planet.
UFO Robot Grendizer will release for PlayStation and Xbox consoles, Nintendo Switch, and PC sometime in 2023.
