TKO Studios now has a pipeline to television.

New Regency, the production company behind The Revenant and Birdman, announced Thursday that it has entered into a development and production partnership with the comic book publisher to develop television shows from its library. TKO’s Salvatore Simeone and Tze Chun will develop, produce, and package the potential shows alongside New Regency.

“TKO is proud to partner with New Regency,” Simone and Chun said in a joint statement. “Their track record creating groundbreaking film and television aligns with our history of publishing critically acclaimed thought-provoking genre stories. We feel our companies’ combined strengths make an ideal partnership and forges a new model for TV adaptation that will benefit all parties, including our incredible creators.”

New Regency Chairman and CEO Yariv Milchan added, “Since the company’s inception, the team at TKO Studios have been innovators and leaders in their field and we have been longtime fans of their exceptional material. We are delighted to be partnering with Salvatore, Tze, and the rest of the team and look forward bringing their impressive collection of IP to television audiences all around the world.”

As with all new deals, it is unclear how quickly anything will materialize, but considering the voracious appetite streaming services, cable outlets, and broadcast networks have for programs, it could happen quite soon.
