‘Jennifer Blood’ Expands To Ten Issues

by Erik Amaya

Get ready, Jennifer Blood fans — the Garth Ennis-created killer’s latest series is sticking around a little bit longer.

Dynamite Entertainment announced Thursday that Jennifer Blood will expand by at least five issues. Writer Fred Van Lente and artist Vincenzo Federici continue on with a new tale called “Blood Debt.” In it, Jennifer finds herself at a secret health clinic specializing in criminals. The head surgeon is surprised to her there, but another experienced, yet terminally-ill hitman has other ideas. He’s written up a bucket list of the gangsters and crooks who have wronged him through the years and she is the perfect accomplice in checking off each item. Will her road to recovery begin with yet more bloodshed? Considering the pair is headed for Vegas, the answer seems obvious.

Although “Blood Debt” will be another five issue story, there is the possibility the series will continue past that. “I love the character and have so many more Jennifer Blood stories I’d love to tell,” Van Lente said in a statement. “Vincenzo and I are just going to try and keep topping ourselves to be the best damn crime comic on the shelves.”

Tim Bradstreet takes over cover duties while Joseph Michael Linsner, cosplayer Rachel Hollon, and more offer up variants.

Jennifer Blood #6 is due for release in March.
